Teresa Vall Palou. Self-taught artist. Initially oriented towards a career in science, specializing in veterinary medicine, he decided to abandon it and follow the path that had always attracted him: artistic practice. With a great capacity for experimentation with materials, he leans towards an organic abstraction, populated with large doses of nature and biology and a particular emphasis on color. Bring into play the emotional, expressive and psychological values of color. They concentrate the energy of an inner need that expands from the inside out of the being until it finds the form, point of contention and balance between joy and sadness, excitement and melancholy, life and death. In the field of printmaking and after learning traditional techniques, he undertook innovative research by modifying traditional techniques. He creates plates with diverse materials, where chance plays a great role from the relief of unusual objects in this field. Gofrats, collagraphs, woodcuts, lithographs, monotypes and other hybrid printing techniques give his prints a great sobriety. Teresa Vall Palou's engraving work finds its place in the artists' books made up to now. Another field of work has been ceramics and Raku, an area in which he has fled from the decorative aspect to show human aspects.
