Teresa Vall Palou. Like a light cloud

From  December 16 - March 5, 2022
Opening: Thursday, December 18, 2021 at 7 pm.
Curator: Conxita Oliver

Teresa Vall Palou’s mature work is situated in the challenge of ‘less is more’. It continues to advance in a major stage that consists of dematerialization and the introduction of environmental values that allude to natural energy currents. Its expressive force lies in its sense of elimination and restraint, in a process that evolves into restraint and nudity. Today's paintings are like light, volatile, and vaporous clouds, although the structural rigor is maintained through compositional schemes. It is this constant, the fruit of immediacy, which is sustained throughout its evolution and which is ascertained throughout its itinerary of sensations and intentions. This encounter between the physical world and the intangible universe that it suggests through veiled flotations and spatial growths intensifies as time goes on. On the other hand, the recent installations are inspired by oriental resonances with experimental and research work, made of attempts and intuitions.

Teresa Vall Palou. Dust Speck. Worm of light

From december 4 - March 27, 2020
Opening: Thursday  December 3,  2020 at 7p.m.
Curator: Pilar Parcerisas

Teresa Vall Palou's latest paintings are compositions that are born from an "inner need", away from appearances and external objects, in which the vital impulse is ordered with color and materials. They maintain the white background of the canvas, a color that is fullness and nothingness, and they are organized in very short series, a record of emotional moments that tense color and form, initiating a period of maturity and synthesis. Compositions that range from color to form, from chaos to order, from the particular to the universal, from objective chance to subjective control, from object to subject. It is a work open to each spectator, a mirror where each one can project themselves and rediscover their emotions, the result of an abstract thought that only responds to the spiritual condition of being.

Vall Palou. Fire suite

From  October 18, 2019- January 20, 2020
Opening:  Thusday October 17, 2019 at 7p.m.
Curator: Carles Duarte i Montserrat

Fire Suite is an exhibition conceived from Vall Palou's experience with raku, accompanied by some fabrics that place us in the same chromatic universe. It is a broad and coherent proposal, which is developed in a well-articulated sequence. If the name of the exhibition evokes within us the intervention of fire in the raku procedure, it also leads us to think of the tenuous thread that unites life and death, as aspects of a single cycle, of an infinite dance that begins again incessantly art.

Vall Palou. «Going to» or the ability to contain time

Fundació Felícia Fuster, Barcelona
Opening: Del 15 de octubre al 29 de noviembre de del 2019
Curator: Carles Duarte i Montserrat

The central motor or motivation that has guided the work of Vall Palou from the beginning seems to be seen in the desire for perseverance. A «going» further in which the artist recognizes himself, an existential and active «going» that promotes transiting new cartographies as it seems to us that Felícia Fuster referred to when she wrote and painted. The translation of this vital attitude in Vall Palou is translated into the action of creating with the desire to transmit to matter the impact "of the immediate expression of what arises from sensitivity", as Arnau Puig put it. The consequence is, therefore, a spontaneous, open and sincere work capable of delving the observer into his experience and artistic subjectivity.

Vall Palou. Look to you at the archipielago

Fundació Vallpalou, Lleida
Opening: from September 19, 2018 - March 15, 2019
Curator: Fina Duran i Riu

Look at yourself in archipelago, it is a strategy, a journey through the different layers of the structures of creative work. A way to come to compose different readings of the creation of Teresa Vall Palou happens, to get to go something further in the perception of what it suggests to us. We understand the creative set of the artist as an archipelago made up of different islands, from this idea we can understand the visit as a journey through aspects such as the process, the color, the shape, the graphs, the volumes, the imprints and the objects. The union of all these sections can help us, or perhaps not, to configure a deeper knowledge of his creative work, but in any case, it will surely reveal unpublished aspects of his work.

Vall Palou. I just can't resist it

Fundació Vallpalou, Lleida
Opening: from October 27,
 2017 -July 8, 2018
Curator: Glòria Bosch

Vall Palou places us in each of the spaces along the route as if it were a circle of affinities that unfolds into a synthesis-antithesis, unfolding the difference in the artist's registers. An open process where generating contrasts is the most evident as a visual ensemble and at the same time as an individual composition, always between expressive rhythms that go beyond any prescribed world to inhabit. Light, matter, color, transparency, opacity, gesture, space, time, chance..., a host of references that would not be without emptiness and absence.

Vall Palou. Glows

Centre de Estudios Catalanes de l’Université Paris-Sorbonne, París
Opening: from May 4 - Juny 12, 2017
Curators: Vicenç Altaió y Josep M. Sala-Valldaura

Vall Palou's pictorial language escapes any type of translation into a verbal language, because we do not find rational or irrational equivalents. The Catalan artist aspires to create beauty, a beauty that the viewer can feel without having to reflect. Preeminence is given to the gaze, with no other support than the sense of sight. Probably, the eyes undertake a tactile response, in a synesthesia that duplicates an entirely aesthetic pleasure.

Vall Palou. Heartbeats

Fundació Vallpalou, Lleida
Opening: from September 14, 2016 - January 30, 2017
Curator:
Conxita Oliver

In a world immersed in the speed and swirl of information, Teresa Vall Palou transports us to a cosmos of reflection and solitude that allows us to delve into the essence and the absolute. For the artist, art is an extension of life itself, a space where he seeks to recognize the same state of intensity with which he lives. With his pictorial practice, Vall Palou has made the claims of non-figurative art not a limitation, but, on the contrary, an imposition. Some mental landscapes that are the result of an introspective process, full of internal demands, questions, approaches and personal challenges, which become the mirror on which the most vital points of his self are reflected. Scenarios that, within a substantial pictorial abstraction, always confirm the link established between the being and the environment.

Vall Palou. Genesis

Fundació Vallpalou, Lleida
Opening: From september 22, 2015 - January 30, 2016
Curator:
Josep M. Sala-Valldaura

Genesis brings together a large part of the work produced by Vall Palou over the last two years: gofrats, lithographs and woodcuts from the artist's book On Love, with six poems by Vicenç Altaió. This genesis must be understood in a double sense: the exhibited pieces represent a nut toppling in the artist's creation and, at the same time, invite to be interpreted as a plastic correspondence of the physical, chemical and biological phenomena that have given time and space to the Universe.

Vall Palou. Recent work and work in dialogue 2013

Fundació Vallpalou, Lleida
Opening: From december 10, 2013 - February 8, 2014
Curator: Vicenç Altaió

Through dialogue, Vall Palou's pictorial and raku ceramic works are placed in correspondence, coexistence and their own individuality with the works of other artists from the Foundation's collection, which are shown both for the first time. The exhibition is distributed and organized from the vanishing points in space, or frontal point of view, with the work of the artists in dialogue, around which works from different periods and styles are grouped, not seen before, from the author. 6 dialogue cores have been created with works by Markus Oehlen, Krishna Murari, Ravi Agarwal, Sabhan Adam, Herbert Brandl, Günther Förg and Vall Palou. By way of conclusion and synthesis, a series of large-format paintings by Vall Palou are presented, isolated, as RECENT WORK 2013.
